Collected Writings of Galen Barbour

I spent a month collecting a friend’s writing; tracking down dates, editing, annotating, designing and printing it all into a 150 page book. I got advice and binding help from the amazing team at Cereal Box Studio.

When he wasn’t working on commercial fishing boats in Alaska, Galen wrote about art and music events for San Francisco blog Section 925. He would also use his press pass to get into anything he could, like city council meetings and tech conferences. His writings explored the incoming wave of VR and AI, blending sci-fi inspired details with a cautious optimism. He also chronicled his wild travels from rural Alaska to cities in Colombia. His voice is sharp, humorous, and at times, heart-wrenching. This book pieces together the last six years of his life through his writing.
